Finding the right makeup for your lashes is key to any look but even we have to admit that eyeliner is a bit of a puzzle. To apply or not to apply? Before lashes or after? Will it damage them?
With so many questions, things can get pretty confusing!
But don’t worry, we’re here to make things simple. This blog will tell you everything you need to know about levelling up your lashes with liner. If you want to become an eye makeup queen 👑, read on!
Is there one right answer?
No! Wearing false lashes with or without them, is entirely up to you and will depend on the look you’re trying to create. If you want more definition, then eyeliner is a great way of adding depth to that lash line.
But if you want a more natural appearance, you’ll probably won't use them. Remember, you’re the one in charge!
Is it better not to wear false lashes with eyeliner?
If you decide to wear lashes without eyeliner, there are lots of ways you can still make your eyes stand out. False lashes on their own will give your eyes loads of extra intrigue, lengthening those lashes and widening your gaze.
You can also look at boosting your natural lashes – we've broken down all the different options for improving lash growth here.
Does the eyeliner make any difference with false lashes?
If you do want to wear lashes with eyeliner, go ahead! You just need to be careful when you’re applying it to ensure you’re not damaging your false lashes in the process, and of course, be sure the pencils you chose are safe.
There are several different kinds of false lashes available, with the most common being glue-ons, magnetics and extensions.
For glue-ons and magnetics: you normally want to apply all of your makeup before popping on your false lashes and eyeliner. This is because makeup can damage the delicate fibres of a falsie by making them brittle or clumpy, which then means they’re at greater risk of breaking.
But, because this product is a bit more precise, (like that cat-eye look), can be used either BEFORE or AFTER you put on your falsies. Some people do both, so that the second application disguises the falsie band.
Whatever you decide, the most important thing is to avoid coating your false lashes as this will drastically reduce the number of wears you get out of them.

For eyelash extensions:it’s super important to use an eyeliner which is water-based. That’s because many regular liners are oil-based and these oils will, over time, break down the glue that is holding your extensions in place. Waterproof products are the worst for this, so avoid it at all costs if you want to keep your extensions in good shape!
Does eyeliner worth it?
We know just how important it is to get the perfect lash line but, as you can see, there are some risks when you reach for the eyeliner. It can be a great final touch to false lashes, but it can also damage them if you’re not careful.
Plus, it's another step in what can sometimes feel like a never-ending journey to get ready, when you really just want to be able to pop on those lashes + eyeliners and go for it!
Aha, but that’s where technology comes to the rescue 😀. You see, we’ve invented a product which can also hold false lashes in place with its own adhesive strength. The Black LinerBond™ PRO means you don’t have to worry about separate glue applicators (mess!) or time-consuming magnetics (boring!). Instead, you can get an instant two-in-one lash lift which lines and holds at the same time.
Because it’s designed to work with your falsies, there’s no risk of damage with our adhesive eyeliner, and it’s so easy and quick to apply that you can even leave the mascara behind and still have eyes that dazzle! Oh, and all of this with no smudge and the most amazing LinerBond™ pen!
