How to get longer lashes?

The Make Up Essentials 

Give me my mascara and I’ll conquer the world! Before we get into the modern innovations which transform lashes, we’ve got to talk about the classics. Using an eyelash curler on your natural lashes to bring out those curves followed by a stroke of eyeliner and a splash of mascara is a tried-and-tested way to deliver definition, lift and volume.

Preventing Breakage 

But not so fast. If it hangs around too long that trusty mascara can make your luscious lashes brittle and easy to break. Get yourself into a daily cleansing routine and keep your eyes fresh with a gentle makeup remover. 

PRO TIP:  Like any part of our body, our hair cells are at their best when they’re healthy. Daily cleansing will remove bacteria and any other baddies which, if they build up, can start to impact your lash growth.  

Nourishing your lashes 

If healthy lashes are pretty happy, then nourished lashes are ecstatic! You can start with something really simple like coconut or castor oil which will condition your lashes and give them a wonderful extra shine. But if you want to take it up a notch it’s really worth investing in a growth serum. Growth serums work by extending the amount of time your lashes spend in their ‘growth’ phase and by strengthening their roots to limit breakage and loss.  

PRO TIP: Whilst growth serums are the ‘gold standard’ for lash growth, some products contain chemicals which can be harmful to your skin and even, long-term, your lashes. That’s why we make our Lash Growth Serum free from parabens, sulphates and toxins, so you get the best of the science without any of the nasties. 

Enhancing your natural look 

 You’ve got a fantastic base and now you’re looking for that extra 10% more you. This is when you start hearing words like ‘extension’ or ‘lift’ and suddenly think: “wait, are we talking about caring for my lashes or redoing a house here?” 🤔 So what’s the best option when you’re looking to augment your lashes and what do all these different things do?  

1) Extensions – attaching semi-permanent fibres directly onto your natural lashes one by one. 
2) Lifts – a chemical perm which curls your lashes and fixes them in place for 4-6 weeks.  
3) Magnetics - false eyelashes which attach to your eyeline using magnets rather than glue. 
4) Glue-on's– traditional falsies which attach to your eyeline with a glue. 

The difference between all of these tends to be cost. Procedures like lifts and extensions can be very expensive, whilst false lashes will be more reasonable. Which makes false lashes ideal right? Well, the problem with the main false lash options out there is that magnets are heavy, whilst glue-on's leave behind a load of gunk and mess which can end up damaging your lashes.
