New to the world of false lashes and wondering why anyone would dream of putting a magnet near their lash line? This is the blog for you! We've broken down everything you need to know about magnetic lashes, from application and lash care through to the way they can enhance your look, all in one easy guide.
So, read on to become an expert in magnetic lashes 👇
Magnetic lashes enhance your natural lashes in the same easy way as any other falsie: they have a fan of synthetic fibres attached to a band which is applied to your lash line.
But... the application of magnetic lashes is a little different. I instead of attaching to your lash line with an adhesive, they are held in place by magnets
To enhance your natural lashes properly, magnetic lashes need to sit snugly along your lash line. The application is super easy and can be done in two ways depending on the kind of lash you buy:
1) The magnetic lash comes in two parts (known as a ‘Dual Lash’ system): you place one part of the lash above your natural lashes and one below, then clip them together.
2) The magnetic lash comes as a single: you apply magnetic eyeliner before adding a single magnetic lash on top.
In both cases, it’s the power of magnetic attraction that holds your magnetic lashes in place!
Reusable lashes are lashes that you can wear again and again to enhance your look. Like other falsies, magnetic lashes are also reusable. With good lash care, a reusable magnetic lash should give you at least 30+ wears.
But to avoid damaging them, you need to know how to remove them safely.
Whether your magnetic lashes are sandwiched together or stick using eyeliner, the technique is the same. Start at the outer corner of the eye and gently lift away the edge of the lash band, taking care not to tug on your eyelid.
Since the magnets are spread out along the band in a straight line, this will let you disconnect each tiny magnet at a time. But, if you try pulling the band from the middle of the eye, you’ll be pulling against all the magnets at once.
Then, if you have used magnetic eyeliner, find out how to remove it in our dedicated blog.
Reusable lashes will look great wear after wear: all you need to do is look after them. It’s super easy: after every use, just use a little micellar water to wipe away any leftover makeup on both the lashes themselves and the magnets.
Lash care isn’t just about looking after your falsie, it’s also about looking after your natural lashes. Which is why anytime you use a product, you want to make sure it’s going to enhance, not damage, your natural lashes. Luckily, magnetic lashes are completely safe to use.
Our Lash Care Tip: Go for the LinerBond option, since magnetic eyeliner can be difficult to remove and, in some cases, even irritate the skin.
