Don’t worry, you don’t need a degree in molecular biology to read this blog! Let’s make things simple: we’re here to talk about lash growth.
If you’ve tried to grow your lashes at one point or another, you’ve probably tried a Lash Growth Serum. Well, EPM enzymes (we know, catchy name 😂) are one of the key ingredients in some Lash Growth Serums, ours included.
Of course, if you pop down to your local cosmetics store you won’t find many people who want to talk to you about enzymes (!), so we’re here to tell you exactly what they do.
EPM enzymes are made up of amino acids, and when amino acids group together, they form something called peptides, which are like little fragments of protein. These fragments can have a positive impact on our eyelashes, which, like the rest of our hair, are also largely made up of protein.
Our eyelashes grow in a natural cycle which includes three main phases: a growth phase, a transition phase, and a resting phase. After a lash has finished its resting phase, it will shed, and the whole process starts again.
EMP enzymes help to extend the lash growth phase and moisturise the lash thereafter, giving you naturally longer lashes that won't shed prematurely (due to brittleness or damage).
Lash Growth Serums are effective but it’s important to use them consistently when you first start. You’ll normally notice best results after 6 weeks. To give you an idea, when we tested our Lash Growth Serum with consumers, we found that, on average, their eyelashes grew by 56% in 6 weeks.
No! EPM enzymes and the other ingredients in Lash Growth Serums are designed to give your lashes all of the wonderful nutrients and protection they need to flourish. Not only will your lashes be longer, they’ll be thicker and healthier too.
When shopping for the right serum, it’s important to check the ingredients. EPM enzymes are a great lash booster, but other forms of peptide can also have a similarly impressive effect on lash growth.
Just be wary of serums that only contain moisturising ingredients, e.g. Vitamin E or Biotin. Whilst they’ll be kind to your lashes and will help to keep them nourished, they won’t actually be stimulating any growth.

Our Lash Growth Serum is a fantastic way to boost your natural growth whilst keeping your lashes healthy. It’s been dermatologically tested, so you can relax knowing that you’re in safe hands, and for the conscious consumer, it’s worth mentioning that it’s cruelty free and 100% vegan.
Give it a go and see just how long your lashes can grow! 😍
